About TinyKraftKabin

Still figuring out if I should just drop my act of trying to be minimalist and embrace my hoarding.

Hello, I'm Karl, and I am the TinyKraftKabin, just a man with a laser and a desire for a slower, calmer life.

I mainly work with wood and titanium, although I tend to dabble in other materials.

My main goal is to have a calm, balanced life, and so far I have found it extremely hard in this fast-moving world. The life I had when growing up is long gone, but the nostalgia of it keeps me moving forward, or rather backwards, to that lifestyle.

I explore the calmer life through my work by embracing simplistic minimal shapes and natural colours from nature.

I get my inspiration from minimalism and pop art movements; some of it comes from my endless flânerie (an Estonian in England using a French word – how dare he -.-). I find minimalism calming and decluttering a way forward for a slower life.

Why?

I want to share my work with others to help them slow down, even if it's through a simple piece of jewellery or a household item, whatever takes your fancy.

How did I get here?

I've always been handy, doing all sorts of arts and crafts throughout my early life – from glasswork to restoration and everything in between. While in university I did animation! - If you get it, you get it. I stumbled on a laser cutter, and it literally blew my mind, and my creative juices came back to life. The potential use was limitless (in my head) – now perhaps I see some limitations. Long story short – honestly, there's nothing long about it, actually – I now have a laser cutter, and that's that, I guess.

If I were to describe my work with one word, I would say my style is

unobstructive.
